Just riding a bit

Yes, my friends I am still here.

I was on the roof a bit to see if maybe Calo came by in his balloon, so I could do a bit of sight seeing with him. But no, maybe the wind was too strong.

But traveling in my carriage works well too. And it takes me too one of my favorite places, Duckin Donuts. Something must have gone wrong, because they misspelled the name. Maybe I will write a letter to Duckin Donuts and ask them to correct it.

And being out and about always gives me a chance to visit with my big winged friend.
Yes, he is very impressive. I like visiting with him, because he tells great stories and sometimes even jokes. Here is a very funny one he told me:
A man and a duck are walking down the street together. Suddenly the man notices a low-flying airplane coming right for them. The man yells "DUCK!!!!" and the duck looks back at the man with an angry face and yells "MAN!!!!"
That is a funny one isn't it!!!!

Jurassic duck

Yes i am back from the danger zone! It seems i always end up in the mouth of, err, things! This time it was in the zoo and i can tell you for sure there were no ducks during the jurassic shift. Anyway after having the shakes from those big mouths it seems they were even deader than Death. Fooled again!

You may think that he was trying to eat me but actually he had to laugh and sneeze cos i tickled his nostrils with my nifty air device. Am i clever or what?

Yeps it's the horned one! Didn't scare me though.

Someone to watch over me?

The little ones were cute and i had some fun playing.

way too busy

My owner has been way too busy doing unnameble things :P
and well I joined in (and so did purple and death)

Which just proves the point that even ducks should be carefull with what they drink on a night out :P

Weirdness

Well, what can I say?

Went to the GogBot festival last week, and met some pretty strange fruits. Some weird ones as well.
The make up on these was done by Jurgen (bored probabely)

Some of the other images of the night are not suitable for publication however, so I'll leave it at this one...

The arrival of Canard a l'Orange (Calo)

Hello everyone,

Well it took al little while but at last a sign of life from a long lost ducky.
After I parted from my friends Black and Death I chose the scenic route to my new home.
The one thing I've learned from that experience . . .

I'm probably the first duck who is affraid of heights.

Hey, did you see this soapbox I was flying? That's what I mean!
First thing I do right now . . . find a quite spot somewhere in a corner and come to my senses.
What a ride . . . Weeeoooo . . . what a rush!

Your friend,

Calo
(Canard a l'Orange)

Día del Charro

Yesterday was Día del Charro, that is Horseman's Day in Mexico. So Aflac and I took a ride on our horse. And that was a lot of fun! After a long ride, we were very thirsty. Aflac always takes good care of me. That is why he is called Aflac. So he also thought about me getting very thirsty and he got a nice Mexican drink for after the ride. Little duck joint us too. And we all had a very nice sip of the drink together!!

I wanted to ride a bit more afterwards, but Aflac said that we couldn't. I did not quite understand why, it had something to do with being thirsty and having a sip.

Well, first post in a while. (like: Ever)

Been busy, on holiday, and busy again.
Also, as a photographer, I don't own a digital compact.... Some films are still waiting to be filled and developed before they will be published.

Luckily my phone does take photos sometimes, so I can share my adventures.

Like I said, I've been on a holiday. Met a real nice, big, somewhat injured, owl:

Was a fun guy to be with. Seems he used to play in a series called 'De Fabeltjeskrant' in his youth.

After saying goodby, I traveled a bit, and got to a real nice scenery I'ld like to share:

They even put up a sign showing me where to look! How thoughtful.

As I traveled by bike, all this got me quite tired, so I spent the night at a campsite:

Further images of this holiday are on film, so will take a while... (As people who know me will assure you: it might be *quite* a while ;))

Last thing I'ld like to add: I will be famous!
Last week I was the key model in a photo shoot!!
Images of me might be used all over the Netherlands in an advertising campaign.

Dancing, dancing, dancing

Last night I went dancing!!!

There was a big slippery floor, so I was glad there was a pole in the middle. I danced around the pole and when it got too slippery, I just put my wing around the pole! It was sooo much fun and everybody loved my dancing!!

And I wasn't dancing alone! A very sweet lady, I call her Shiny Shannon, danced with me. She thought the floor was very slippery too, so we both held on to the pole.

We danced very long and Shiny Shannon got real warm, so she took her clothes off. That was no problem, because she made sure she threw her clothes far away, so they were not in the way of our dancing. And other people who were not dancing, were nice enough to pick up her clothes and keep them safe.

After all the dancing Shiny Shannon gave me a goodnight kiss and I danced all the way home.

farewell

The shoot was fun but after that we (death and I ) had a more serieus moment
Time to say goodbye to an othere duck friend, he promissed he'd stay in touch and I sure hopes he does, he's such a little duckie in such a big world. I hope his owner loves him as much as my owner loves me

so farwell and hope to hear from you soon!!

soooo Fashion

I did a real fashion shoot yesterday

I was like WAY cool and I even made some new friends

Aren't they just the coolest outfits EVER!! I love the way they look on me

This one is cool to isn't it, It's with a male model called Beer, I was so gratefull that his owner Kalle let him be in the pic with me, such a nice guy!! And Beer said I looked totally HOT (he even asked for my number).

Death didn't care to much for my new friends, we had like a big fight but made up later (phew!!) something about the colour pink that he dislikes, I wouldn't know why

Second home

Today I went with my human companion to her work. I was not quite sure what that meant 'work', but since she spends a lot of time there, I am guessing it is like a second home.
The day started really good, 'cause I met Bob.

He is soooo sweet and funny too!! After spending a lot of time with Bob, it was time for lunch. They put a very nice lunch for me together.

And everything taste great. Oh I really had a full tummy!!!!

Now it was time for the nice doctor to examine me. He did a very thorough job of course, he is a very good doctor. I told him that my wing hurt. The nice doctor said that he could make the pain go away.

It scared me a bit because he took out a very big needle..... I think it was about 2 duckies long. But the nice doctor said that it would make the pain go away.

I was a very brave duckie as the nice doctor made the pain go away.

With my wing perfectly fine, there was no reason not to ride the turtle for a little while, before going home!!!!

Oh... My... God.

This is a black day in the history of a Duck's life. Stop laughing, I'm serious! I was attacked by both a wolf AND a lion today! Fortunately I was quick enough to fly/run/get away from the lion, but the wolf was somewhat more tricky than that big, red hairy lion.

Okay, that's all I want to say about it. I'm really, REALLY hurted. Just watch the pictures. And PLEASE, leave a message to Nouk-nouk in which you tell her to take better care about me!

(Oh, I did some dark photoshopping at this pictures because I want to REALLY show you what a bad situation it was.)

First, the lion. Not THAT bad though, I could get away from it pretty unharmed.

But THEN, the WOLF!

I'm SOOOO harmed! I'll post pictures of that as soon as I'm somewhat more okay, 'cause I'm way too harmed and tired to stay out of bed any longer than this...

Good night!

flowers

My owner took some flower pics yesterday and of course I helped
see.... It looks way better with me on top of it doesn't it.

Purple came by to say hi and have tea and then we played the balcony scene
from Romeo and Juliet (guess who I had to play)

Labor Day

They tell me Labor Day is the last day for a nice barbeque. So I tried it. NO, NOT REALLY!! Don't worry it was an old picnic bbq in the middle of the woods. The only thing it did, was make my feet a bit black!

Into the wide wide world

Well hello everybody, I am Bata and circumstances beyond my control have forced me on an adventure into the wide wide world. Boldly going were no (oeps sorry, that is my human companion interfering).

I always enjoyed swimming around in my little water tank. Granted that the overhead light felt just a bit too bright in the morning. But still I was pretty content. But now one of the fish, the adorable little yellow fish, got pregnant. I tried to take a picture of her, because she is really adorable and yellow, but she is also shy....so could not do better than this.
No, no big belly....she keeps them in her mouth. Can't see us ducks doing that.

Well anyway, it means little Bata has to go out into the big dry world. It sounds quite exciting, but I do miss my little water tank.

I'm a graphic design student!

Last week was really great. Nouk-nouk and I went to our new school for a four-days introduction to our new study: part-time graphic design! And, guess what... our new school is all the way over in Breda! BREDA, that's like the other side of Europe, I'm sorry... It's like AUSTRALIA to a duck like me!

But well, fuck that. Nouk-nouk's classmates are nice, really nice. The building is nice too, really nice. And Nouk-nouk and I slept at our new home for three whole nights. From our new home, Breda isn't really like Australia. From there it's a bit more like Italy or something.

The first three days of our introduction were a piece of shit. I had to stay in Nouk-nouk's bag for two whole days (Nouk-nouk took me out only twice during one of those two days!) and I had to stay at home for another day. I was really mad at Nouk-nouk. Really. Really!

But the last day was fun! I was more involved in the process than ever before during those four days. I even did all the painting jobs! Nouk-nouk's teammates were really satisfied with my paintings, so next time I'll be doing those again.

Take a look at my face! I was sooooo happy!
(Oh, and take an accurate look at the feet behind me... someone doing some ballet! Sooooooo creative!)

Okay, get the party started... St. Joost, here I come!

(Thanks to Jan, who took this great picture of me... Want to do a photoshoot with me, Jan?)
