Still alive

Hello hellooo! It is me, Purple! It has been only more than 10 years since we last saw each other. I just wanted to let you know I am still alive. My current lifestyle mostly consists of bookshelf sitting though. But that is an important job 'cause the bookshelf is always very naughty! I miss the days when I was still going out on adventures but I guess I am too old for that now. Nouk-Nouk still takes good care of me though. She wipes away the dust maybe once or twice a year. x

Strawberry Jam

And what to do with all the strawberries that we picked. We can't let them go bad and we got more the we can eat at once.
Yes, we tried....

Bulla has a very good idea, we are gonna make jam, strawberry jam!

So I start with cleaning all we need really good....I scrub and scrub, till it is all shiny!

And Bulla cleans the strawberries and cut of the ends. Bulla is very careful with the knife.And then we put all the strawberries in a big pot with a lot of sugar.
It is like we are making strawberry soup.....mmmmm, that might be a good idea for next time.
And now, I pour the jam into the jars that I cleaned. Very carefully cause it is so hot and we don't wanna spill any of the red stuff.
We want to eat it when we like....so that might be a while...that means canning....So we put the jars in the pot with water and boil it....

For a little while....
And then....tada....we made jars with strawberry jam....
Doesn't that look good!

Our first strawberries

It has been beautiful weather and that means strawberries grow nice and big.... and delicious.

So I took Bulla out to my favorite strawberry field!And there in the sun we plucked lots of strawberries....
and we ate a few......juicy, sweet. I really like strawberries and so does Bulla!!
One of the containers was almost empty again when we left!!
But we still had plenty left to take with us!!
Plenty to eat or bellies full later......and later again....Maybe even make jam....
You know ducks like us love jam!!

It is beautiful weather out....after the cold winter, I like the nice weather!
It is so nice, enjoying the sunshine and looking at my seedlings grow. It was really difficult, putting the seeds in the pots and not snacking on them.

But what do I spot in the distance......


I can't sit here and wonder.....as quickly as I can I move towards the curious object....

Oh....it is a fellow duck.....I have to meet her!!!

"Hi! I am Bata", I tell her as soon as I reach her.
"I am Bulla", she replies.

Oh I made a friend.....and it is so much better tending to the seedlings together!!!

2009

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

And as I get used to 2010, I already start to think back of all the fun I had in 2009.

Right now I am thinking of all the great movies I saw in the theater!!

Bata in Winter Wonderland

We had lots of snow this weekend and oh! it looked so pretty.

Since I am very pretty too....I fit in really well with the snow.

To find a perfect spot, I went on a little trip with a real nice lady!!
And she made me look nice and pretty and found beautiful snowy places

And this place looks so cozy....Good place for a nest. Well maybe it would be a little cold!
It wasn't really that cold because the sun was shining and warming me up!
It was maybe a little slippery high in the trees!! But I was carefull not to slip!
And after a day of being pretty and enjoying the snow in the tree, I was ready to come down!

I just was eh...busy...(looking thru my box of excuses)

And eh...knitting
And decorating the Xmas tree....
Okay, the last one I did yesterday.... And it didn't take months.... But I was busy with it!!!
